It has a very light pale rose-brown color<\/strong>. Usually beech wood is steamed to show better processing behavior. Steamed beech wood acquires a uniform reddish brown color<\/strong>. Characteristic of its appearance are the small lines on its surface that resemble rain.<\/p>\n

It has a high density of up to\u00a00,72\u00a0g\/cm3<\/span><\/strong>,<\/span> \u00a0<\/span>relatively high hardness<\/strong> and low dimensional stability<\/strong> after drying, i.e. it is prone to warping, splitting, surface cracking and shrinkage. It usually has a straight structure, but it can also be twisted, depending on its growth conditions.<\/span><\/p>\n

Processing:<\/strong> When the wood has an irregular structure and poor drying, it is very difficult to process it. It generally exhibits average resistance to tooling and machining and causes an average degree of tool clogging. It has good behavior in gluing, finishing and painting.<\/p>\n

It is a large tree, up to 35 meters<\/strong> high, deciduous with a straight trunk, smooth, with thin bark, grayish and foliage that lets the light through. The use of creosote<\/strong> in medicine as an expectorant bacteriostatic, which is produced during the dry distillation of beech wood, is also great.<\/p>\n
