In fact, the reference to the poplar is a result of the tree&#8217;s height, which can exceed <strong>25-30 meters<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-19157 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/manono.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/Tulipwood-00.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"515\" height=\"344\" srcset=\"https:\/\/manono.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/Tulipwood-00.jpg 551w, https:\/\/manono.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/Tulipwood-00-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 515px) 100vw, 515px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Properties:<\/strong> Relatively low density, about\u00a0<strong style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">0,50 g\/cm<span style=\"position: relative; font-size: 12px; line-height: 0; vertical-align: baseline; top: -0.5em;\">3<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">, <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 1rem;\"><strong>low hardness<\/strong> but <strong>excellent dimensional stability<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Processing:<\/strong> It is straight wood, it shows excellent behavior both in mechanical processing and in hand processing. The tallest recorded tree is <strong>58,5m<\/strong> tall. Its usual height is <strong>24-46m<\/strong> and it tends to have a pyramidal crown. The development is quite fast. <strong>A tree only 15 years old can reach 12 meters in height,<\/strong> with no branches within the distance of people standing on the ground.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-19161 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/manono.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/Tulipwood-04.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"553\" height=\"415\" srcset=\"https:\/\/manono.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/Tulipwood-04.jpg 553w, https:\/\/manono.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/Tulipwood-04-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 553px) 100vw, 553px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The leaves are broad and thin, which makes it <strong>an ideal shade tree<\/strong>. As a tree it loves the sun, and hates drought. Its flowers are yellow and resemble <strong>tulips<\/strong>, which is where it got its name from. Its original description by <strong>Carl Linnaeus<\/strong>, &#8220;<strong>Liriodendron tulipifera<\/strong>&#8221; also includes the word &#8220;<strong>lily<\/strong>&#8220;.
